With their excellent writing skills and outstanding comprehensive qualities, students from the Senior High School Department of our school have achieved remarkable results in both the 5th High School English Composition Competition of
Anqing City and the first National Japanese Calligraphy Competition of 'Zaodao Cup'. Not only did their achievements reflect the teaching outcomes of our school's foreign language subjects but also showcased the students' remarkable talents.
To begin with, the fifth High School English Composition Competition in Anqing City, with the theme of 'Telling China's Achievements and Spreading China's Stories in English', aimed to assess students' English application ability, logical thinking ability and cross-cultural communication ability.
Specifically, student Jin Ruiyan from Class 206 of our Senior High School Department stood out among all the contestants, whose work, 'The Magnificent Scenery of Outstanding Traditional Chinese Festivals in My Eyes', won the first prize under the meticulous guidance of teacher Wang Jia Yin. Meanwhile, the article was ingeniously conceived and used fluent language to delicately present the cultural charm and contemporary warmth of traditional Chinese festivals.
In addition, Pan Mengyao's work 'Nothing is Impossible for a Willing Heart' successfully won the third prize under the guidance of Bi Jin. The article closely adhered to the theme of the competition, using smooth language to convey the core of the striving spirit. Also, from the creative conception to the eventual award, it fully demonstrated Pan Mengyao's persistent fighting spirit.
Furthermore, in the first National Japanese Calligraphy Competition of "Zaodao Cup', the students of the Japanese language department of our school also performed outstandingly under the careful guidance of instructor Qian Mudan. For instance, student He Yufan from Class 309 had a well-formed brushstroke and a neat layout in his calligraphy work, winningthe third prize.
Additionally, the works of 14 students were awarded the Excellence Prizes for their excellent handwriting and artistic charm. Evidently, not only did students' achievements at our school demonstrate their solid academic foundation but also highlighted the remarkable results of our school's integrated approach to teaching Japanese language and culture.
In a nutshell, the awards were a reflection of the achievements of our school's foreign language teaching reform and distinctive cultivation. In the future, our Senior High School Department will continue to deepen foreign language teaching and establish more platforms for display, allowing students to grow through learning and exchanging in diverse cultures. More noticeably, with more solid abilities and broader horizons, students will write their own youthful epics!
